I may not have mentioned it yet, but my area of research in physics is known as Space Physics. The field studies the interactions between the Sun and the Earth, from the solar wind to the magnetic field surrounding our planet, all the way down to the ionosphere where we see the northern lights. I was recently able to attend the GEM (geospace environment modeling) conference in Honolulu to network and discuss the latest research in the field. Here’s the group from UTA:
